Sunday's Theme At The Red Planet 08-03-08

"Favorite/Least Favorite Vacation"

Have you ever went on a trip to "Jellystone National Park," where all your pickanic baskets started disappearing? We'd like to hear about it.

Have you ever visited the infamous "Crystal Lake," and Jason not only wanted to make stumps out of trees with that chainsaw of his, but stumps out you, as well? We'd like to hear about it.

We'd like you to share your fondest or not-so-fondest memories of when you went camping, fishing, sailing, on a cruise, on a picnic, how you spent a day at the beach, a family reunion, or your experience when you traveled to another city, state, or country, etc.

I made it to your planet. It seemed light years away. J

I would say that my recent jaunt cross country, then North, to Canada, and back to the East coast, retracing my same trail, was the worst. I road Greyhound 3.5 days, each way... a week on the road.

This trip was during the week that there was bad news on the Edmunton bus. Someone lost his mind and knifed a fellow passenger, decapitating him.

That didn't make us rest easily on our bus. Then some drivers were on power trips. They made life miserable. "Okay, a three minute bathroom stop here," (Like 60 people can go to the bathroom in three minutes when there are already two other buses at the stop.).

One driver, Cindy, was great however. She gave us the number of the restaurant at the stop so our food was exactly ready as we pulled in and we had time to sit and eat, plus, make a rest stop!

At Greyhound, priority is given to people already riding the bus. They get a re-boarding pass. But, the bus company can cancel that pass on a whim by saying you were on the second bus and we no longer need it (And, they did so!!!).

Other passengers were great and we shared the bad experiences together, so, we built comraderie in a week. Still, it was my worst summer trip.
