Tuesday's Theme At The Red Planet 03-10-09
"Duet Poetry Night"
Come on people, it's a fabulous night for duets, so grab a partner and put those creative minds together. I know you have it in you and this will be a lot of fun. Can't wait to see what you all come up with.
Write about anything you like, on any topic, and it can be as long as you like, no limit. See you there with bells ringing...lol.
*Please note: It is not mandatory to write with a partner. You are more than welcome to write and share on your own.
I must say, I am really looking forward to writing with demo, she started as not being a writer but a lover of poetry, and now she has the makings of a true poetress and even edits my work time to time.
This is why I have faith in you; don't be shy...give it a try. I know you'll like it and find it so relaxful, and relieving of any stress or burdens you may have. It's really exhilirating, writing alone or with someone you care about or who understands you. I'm sure many of us will write some of our own personal work, as well.
**Regarding Time Change: New scheduled time for poetry readings on Monday & Tuesday night (8pm-10pm est)...Tuesdays will be theme nights. Any suggestions for upcoming themes the next following weeks, please let me or demo know.
We are more than happy to take into consideration your ideas on making this a more funfulled and enjoyable night, for we're always looking for new ideas.
Thank you so much for your support and all the wonderful reads you have shared, and to those who have come to visit and read others work.
Please know that not only poetry is welcome, but prose, songs, quotes, or even someone else's work is more than welcome, as long as that person is given credit. Take care, everyone and we'll see you soon :)

Valentine
roses are red
violets are blue
to put into words
all that we've been thru...
as days turned to weeks
and months into years
we've managed to hold on
thru laughter and tears
loving moments
so precious and few
give way to fear and worry
what are we to do?
this life that we're living
has seen so much heartache
how do we keep love
alive without heartbreak?
one thing's for certain...
you have my heart
two peas in a pod
never to part

Summer Twilight
Wisps of pink and blue
streak the sky at sunset
as descending rays
shower land in golden light
The sun sinks below the horizon
with the promise of a beautiful tomorrow
while sweet Summer sighs
whisper softly
He looks into pools of dazzling aura
sparkling, bright,
mystic, deep-brown eyes
as day makes way for night
Her hand feels the warmth of his face
And slowly moves to his chest, and rests
Her hair flows freely, dancing in waves
And scents the air like daisies in May
Birds return home to their nests
While singing sweet lullabies
As flowers snuggly encase and embrace
Their delicate petals, gently interlaced
The night comes alive
as the moon starts to rise
All thoughts of tomorrow
set aside

No Words
When time stands still,
and the horizon is caught
hanging over the hills;
the sky, a softly painted whisper
sketched in that of orange and blue,
makes a memory of nothing but you.
Of how it was and how its been,
of how you've become much more than a friend.
If only I knew you before we met,
those years spent without you, I'd rather forget.
In saying what you mean to me,
words, they fail to come,
for there still are no words
to describe,
you're the one.

If Days Of Old
If days of old
came 'round again,
its passionate worth
in the hearts of men,
to shower beauty,
with not material things,
but the warmth of a soul,
till you feel her eyes cling
and catch your breath,
for these times aren't mistaken,
when you see her blood flow,
to a blush she has taken.
A smooth liquid rush,
lips, they melt and entwine,
and quenches a thirst,
in the essence of wine.
To have and to hold,
as on holidays, you remember,
matrimonial gold,
never a day, do surrender.
Holding on to what made you,
no troubles to ripen,
embraced in one's arms,
a love, you will find in.

Restless Hallow's Eve
On this All Hallow's Eve the spirits of the dead walk among the living
remembering the hot blood that flowed through their veins
looking for a lover that they may have left behind
to sate the lust kept from them for so long
A sailor from long ago remembers a pretty lil girl who caught his eye
searching for an eternity his ragged breath turns to a sigh
he remembers her smile...the color of her eyes....and the way she wiggled when she walked
That last dance before he shipped out that fantasy for which he always talked
Tonite he plans to find that one that stole his heart
like every Hallows Eve since that fateful night
he'll walk the streets of that New York town until the light of day
when the sun returns and he fades back away.
Hopefully a taste of her upon his lips to last until next year
Dedicated to the hearts that broke when Miss V found her Prince.
